Participants in both the Tropical Themed Art Contest and the Tropical Fruit Dessert Recipe contest will be charged a nominal admission fee of $4. (This will be extended to parents of budding artists).

Tropical Themed Art Contest
Saturday, June 11, 2005

Budding artists ages 6-18, participating in the art contest, are asked to bring paintings and drawings, mounted on heavy construction paper or poster board, measuring 8 ½" x 11", themed to "A Taste of Old Florida." Please print up art contest entry form and print legibly in ink or type all the necessary information. Entries will be accepted noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, 6/11/05; judging begins at 2:00 p.m. Winners, chosen by members of the Homestead Art Club, will receive as follows:


Age Brackets:
6 - 9 Years old
10 - 14 Years old
15 - 18 Years old


Best of Show: $100 Gift certificates to Pearl Arts and Craft Supply
1st Place in All three age brackets: $50
2nd Place in All three age brackets: $25

Tropical Fruit Recipe Contest
Sunday, June 12, 2005

Please print up recipe contest entry form and print legibly in ink or type all the necessary information. Bring in your actual tropical fruit dessert dish and document on Sunday by 1:30PM. Entries should measure no more than 10" x 10" and be able to withstand standard daytime temperatures during the judging period of 2 hours. If chilling is required for storage prior to judging, participants must bring their own disposable coolers with ice packs. Convening at 2 p.m., Sunday, 6/12/05 a blue ribbon panel of judges selects three winners from South Florida's gourmet home cooks. Prizes are as follows:


1st Prize Winner: $100 Gift Certificate at Chef Allen's Restaurant, Aventura
2nd Prize Winner: $50 Gift Certificate to Pascal's on Ponce, Coral Gables
3rd Prize Winner: $40 Gift Certificate to Doraku on Miami Beach
